The Things That Really Matter
From Chadrick Black, Author of The Greatest Harvest.

"I've been told I expect a lot from people.  But my hope is to help people slowly
find purpose and meaning.  And one of the best ways to find purpose is by
giving.  Trust me.  It works...  How proud would you feel knowing that your
grandfather gave to a cause that helped create the vaccination for small pox?
What if your grandfather gave to a cause that eventually designed an economic
system to end hunger in 3rd world countries?  What if you gave to a cause that
created the best solutions to fighting cancer?  What if you gave to a cause that
eventually ended some of the worst childhood diseases in recorded history?"

Look at what we're doing below.  Become a part of it.  Become the change you
wish to see in the world...

The most secret, sacred wish that lies deep
down at the bottom of your heart, the wonderful
thing that you hardly dare to look at, or to think
about – the thing that you would rather die than
have anyone else know of, because it seems so
far beyond anything that you are, or have at the
present time, that you fear that you would be
cruelly ridiculed if the mere thought of it were
known – that is just the very thing that God is
wishing you to do or to be for him.  And the
birth of that marvelous wish in you soul – the
dawning of that secret dream – was the Voice of
God himself telling you to arise and come up
higher because he had need of you.

Just as the winds change, my circumstances also have the ability to turn from giver to
beggar.  My health, I am not promised.  My gold, I may misplace.  My touch in the marketplace
may become cursed.  Illness, poverty, and lack of success in the marketplace may all find a way
to my door during my journey in life.  Therefore, when given the chance, I will give like never
before to the beggar, knowing that one day, he may wear silk on his skin and jewels on his
hands and will remember the compassion I had for him.  He will remember how I treated him as
my brother and will care for me the same.
I will enter the marketplace today remembering the words of the richest and wisest of all
men: Cast your bread upon the water and it will return to you.  I will live by these words,
knowing that, to be able to give signifies the abundance in my life that has been provided to me.
Therefore, I will give like never before...
